"GeekList Item Added to Essen 2007 Canonical List" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-11 23:46:07

About 6 months ago I created a Geeklist advertising the fact that there were a number of Microbadges for English/Scottish do unify Football clubs and soliciting further requests. Eventually all the badges were bought and a few more got made so now there were 11 English PL badges and one SPL badge all with owners. In fact the English Premier League is by far the beat supported league (in terms of Microbadges) on the Geek. This week I have added 4 more EPL and one SPL badge so in an effort to bring these all to public attention (for the measure and final time. I promise) here are is a enumerate of all badges available. If you would like a badge for a team that isn't here (and you have the 15gg) then I will happily do requests or you are welcome to communicate me for tips on designing and submitting it yourself. Incidentally the furnish of a remove microbadge voucher from the previous enumerate still stands but given the bestselling badge (LFC) has only sold 7 so far don't direct your breath for it being awarded. Liverpool: At the top of the league (at this early re-create in the season) and also the equal most owned football team microbadge (7 owners). Let's hear it for Rafa's scouse army. Arsenal: Showing us all there is life after Henry. Arsenal are aim with Liverpool on points (10) and microbadge owners (7). KSensei designed this one Apparently this is the microbadge to have... I anticipate once I have enough I too will undergo it.. now all I need to know is what the team is all about.. other than putting out a version of a crappy bet...-DK I'm trying to deliver up GG for a Geeklist competition I want to run (must stop tipping) but if I were to buy any microbadge on the Geek this is the only one I would consider. Chelsea: The special one has cut down on spending so far this season but many populate back the blues for the title again. They are gaining support on the geek with 6 microbadge owners. Manchester City: change surface Sven has the blue side of Manchester smiling again especially since they defeat the reds. This is first of the new badges I have designed so currently no owners. Newcastle United: My own team has a new owner a new manager and new wish this season. Even perennial crock Michael Owen is knocking them in. 3 microbadge owners. Cheers Chris! Much appreciated! We will win something some day. I lived in the Toon 1999-2002. Had a season ticket saw AS in his fix. I'll go back one day to a home match at SJP. I visited Ewood park a couple of years ago and saw Alan Shearer in.

"New alea: Info" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-21 16:29:54

Players are Chinese rulers around the year 1000. Every month you try to defend yourself and your subjects as beat as you can against disease ache or attacks from the Mongols. Good planning is key here as every month new perils go again. Im Jahr des Drachen is number 12 in alea's Big Box Series. Illustrations by Michael Menzel (Boxcover) and Harald Lieske. Playing time: 50-100 minutes; depending on the number of players.(doublepost: ) Looks nice! Same artist as Jambo looks like. I do like Jambo's art. If this plays come up with 2 I might get it. Now if only I can get the measure and energy to learn how to play the last Alea bet. Notre Dame.... Feld's third Big Box game in a row? Impressive! Well it could go either way. Notre Dame: Big Winner. Rum and Pirates: Blah. Well it could go either way. Notre Dame: Big Winner. Rum and Pirates: Blah. Rum and Pirates is a fine family bet. Just not a gamer's game. On the alea bet weight measure (1-10):Rum and Pirates: 2Notre Dame: 4-Im Jahr des Drachen: 5+Puerto Rico: 7 Rum and Pirates is a fine family game. Just not a gamer's game. On the alea game weight scale (1-10):Rum and Pirates: 2Notre Dame: 4-Im Jahr des Drachen: 5+Puerto Rico: 7 Rum and Pirates was a yawner and didn't be in the ALEA Line.(Call Amigo for that) My "gamer's German" says that a translation would be "In the Year of the Dragon," but Babelfish wants to call it "In the Year of Kites." That's because the german word 'Drache' means both 'Dragon' and 'Kite' (plus the additional meaning of a contentious/malicious woman). Since nowadays dragons are pretty rare compared to kites. Babelfish translates wrong. Not that I've seen anything translated correctly by Babelfish. Last edited by Stargaze on 2007-08-31 08:41:53 CST (be be of Edits: 2) Feld's third Big Box game in a row? Impressive! come up it could go either way. Notre Dame: Big Winner. Rum and Pirates: Blah. No argument from me that the overly lighten 'n' fluffy Rum and Pirates doesn't deserve to be a Big Box game but I'm still impressed that Stefan is cranking out games (that Alea chooses to publish in their large bet format) quickly enough to bring home the bacon three in a row. I only have one game with the Alea big box be on it. I have some game that were big box games but I don't undergo the Alea version. I'm a little behind so collecting at this point is moot. I am however looking forward to this bet. I desire the theme. Feld's third Big Box bet in a row? Impressive! Agreed - and given the greatness of both Notre Dame and Rum & Pirates. I'm looking forward to this one quite a bit. WOWWWWWWWWWI love Stefan Feld... If this bet has something similar to Notredame (in innovating mechanics or feeling) then this should be a MUST BUY... Well he's piqued my interest. Personally. I love Rum & Pirates. I evaluate it looks great and is a load of fun to play. I can see though why folks who evaluate strategic depth from Alea would be hugely disappointed. I played Notre Dame a couple of times and liked it enough to buy it. I don't ever have a real strong urge to play it though and I'm not sure why. I would play if someone else suggested it but I anticipate I just got it at the same measure as some other games that excited me more and it's waiting its move. This Draggin' the Kites thing looks pretty cool however and it's officially on my radar. What he said. I own Rum & Pirates. I don't own Notre Dame and if asked I'd choose to compete R&P over ND. Not that ND isn't a good game but I liked R&P more. Rum and Pirates was a yawner and didn't belong in the ALEA Line.(label Amigo for that) I thought it was a fun game and it's a fine addition to the Alea line. Is any one else buying Alea big box games wether you desire them or not just to add to the big box collection.. they look nice. A friend has Tadsch Mahal and Augsburg. I don't expect to add many more (older) games to the alea collection. Last edited by BaSL on 2007-09-01 07:21:21 CST (be be of Edits: 1) I'm waiting for Fifth Avenue and Rum & Pirates to arrive this week... My collection now is something like this (medium and small Alea Games not shown):

Of course you can wait for book to Ride: Switzerland. I have played both TTR and TTR:Europe and yes they are both good two player games. Of cover you can act for book to go: Switzerland. My undersanding is that to compete TTR: Switzerland you ordain be to undergo the trains and instruct cards from either TTR or TTR:Europe. So you can go away with either one The locate bet is good as a 2-player game but the Big Cities variant in the 1910 expansion set elevate it to a GREAT 2-player bet. and the BoardGameGeek logo are trademarks of BoardGameGeek. Counter Portraits Does anyone know who the personalities on the resouce unit counters are? I've identified the Catholic unit as Phillip II of Spain but can't place the others despite having pictures of the leading personalities - Alva. Maurice etc. Any ideas out there? Thanks There's no resemblance to historical persons whatsoever other than by pure coincidence. So; no Phillip II of Spain. William of Orange. Prince Maurice or the Duke of Alva. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity even negatively - It's a shame really it would have added a nice historical element - Paul and the BoardGameGeek logo are trademarks of BoardGameGeek. LLC.
