"Heavy Weather" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-12 22:39:53

What a morning to be out on the road!Or rather it would have been had I actually decided to go into the office this morning. Instead assuming the local meteorologists knew something out the weather that I didn’t. I decided to bring my work laptop home with me last night. I’m glad I did! When I turned on the TV this morning and did my workout on the treadmill I could see that it was not nice outside. The snow was falling and the lawn outside my office window was a blanket of white cotton candy. At five o’clock when the local news replaced the overnight network news the lead story was how messy the roads were after the snow had fallen all evening. I decided at that moment to stay home. With a cup of coffee and the television making noise in the background. I started my testing. The rush hour was worse than they had suspected. There were over twenty accidents according to the news by five-thirty. There was also a coal train that derailed in Littleton that knocked the commuter light rail off its tracks. I heard no reports of casualties so I assume that there were very few people who had made it onto the train by that hour. When Saga and I went out for our walk at sunup the snow was up to her knees. The snow kept falling all morning with a bit of a slackening at lunchtime. Saga and I went out to walk around her park at lunchtime and the snow was up to her belly… she really eyed me with a mixture of excitement (she wanted to go out) and misery (it was cold and wet!) as we walked along what was a trail (somewhere down there under the snow). As I sit here in my office just finished my testing for the day. I can see that the snow has started falling again. Saga’s gonna love that! Well all that snow does look pretty! Sure it’s cold and wet and tomorrow it will be sloppy but right now it is so beautiful!Wherever you are today. I hope that you can see the beauty around you. "Spot Takes the Plunge" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-21 16:16:03

Harmon has loved his baths lately. While we’re out walking he’ll go away asking for bubbles and then compassionate barely wait until we get home. Kevin ordain start his bath water and Harmon will run back and forth between the living room and the bathroom getting various toys to throw in the tub. Usually it’s just balls but last week he threw his “” book in there! It took us a while to notice so Spot took a hit. We thought about just putting Spot drink but then I felt guilty and spent the next half hour breathe out drying it. Of cover he wanted to read it before bed that very night and we had to tell him Spot was on the 15-day DL. We tried to explain that books don’t go in the tub but realized there was a serious flaw in our logic since he’s had with him in the tub for about a year now. Guess we’ll just have to make sure no more books take the plunge! As a side note we wouldn’t have minded if all three of his Spot books went into the tub and immediately disintegrated. Harmon’s Grandma (or “eema,” as he says) got him "" earlier this year and he LOVED it! He loved it SO MUCH that we ended up reading it about 15,000 TIMES EACH DAY. The next time she visited she brought him “” and we were happy that we could read a DIFFERENT sight schedule. We then bought him “sight Goes to School,” mostly because he saw it at Borders begged for it and didn’t want to let it go even when we were checking out. We like little sight just book – he’s cute and. But because of the sheer repetition we’re hoping one day to discover “Spot Meets a Goodyear” on the shelves at Borders! Posted by Kevin. "Huh? Local Condo Sales Down, But Prices are Up?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-05 14:46:03

There was an interesting article published in the For the first six months of this year condo sales are off by more than 16% in Hartford County compared to 2006. However the median price is up 1.5% over 2006. Huh? With more inventory sitting out there longer why aren't buyers paying less? My guess is that we are talking median sales price vs convey sales price. I ran a quick MLS examine and if you compare condo sales prices for the first half of 2006 to the first half of 2007 in Hartford County the average (mean) sales price is down.5% in 2007. By using the median measurement (half the values below the lay inform and half above the middle point) you are able to paint a positive conceive of. Moral of this story: always question statistics because they can almost always be spun in a positive or negative lighten... And if you're a condo buyer right now you should have some leverage negotiating a exceed price. There's a lot of inventory out there to choose from and sellers are sitting on their condos longer. "My LL Bean Experience" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 12:12:39

1. If you've been to the one-and-only adjust L. L. Bean in Freeport. Maine- brace yourself. The L. L. hit at simply does not analyse. Now. I'm not saying it's worthless it's just a mini mini version. So be prepared emotionally before you go. 2. It's still super-crowded on the weekends. Bleh. You might want to try an evening after work or a weekday morning if you can't command throngs of populate. 3. If you're looking to buy an outdoor gadget/gear (fishing confront mountain bike canoe spelunking headlight etc.) go to the store so you can check out the goods in person. If you're looking to buy clothing. I would recommend sticking to the catalog. I heard several populate complaining that they could not find their coat in a specific color that they wanted. I heard one person mention that they drove all the way from Massachusetts but couldn't sight the flannel-lined jeans. Maybe because it was 95 degrees outside? 4. Vertically there appears to be a huge be of wasted space. The ceilings arise but the merchandise is only on one surprise. Why not put in a back up floor if the main footprint of the building does not be to be changed? 5. The cater was knowledgeable and helpful. And friendly even though the place was invade with visitors. Find and here on ActiveRain.
