New Zealand wing Doug Howlett has been reprimanded over his drunken antics in London following the All Blacks' move at the World Cup. The 29-year-old attended a misconduct meeting at the New Zealand Rugby Union to address his behaviour after the 20-18 defeat to France last month which was deemed to amount to "serious act". All Blacks manager Darren Shand expressed his disappointment over the incident but claimed the player had held his hands up and the matter was now closed. Democrats and Liberals (who are one and the same for all practical purposes) like to point to reports that anywhere from 75 to 95 percent of black voters choose for Democratic candidates and issues when they go to the polls — if they go to the polls that is. If those figures are correct or nearly change by reversal why are so many African-American citizens supporters of Democrats and Liberals? I’ve tackled this thorny issue before on many occasions but my answer has always been the same — and here it is: For decades. Democratic politicians in and out of Congress have taken actions which in effect keep America’s black population in virtual slavery! Yes. I said “slaveryâ€�! How so? In many devious calculated ways. Democrats and Liberals have championed giveaway programs and laws designed to benefit communities that are in almost hopeless poverty most of whose dwellers are blacks in neighborhoods one could classify as ghettoes. Call these giveaways what you will; in this case. I call them bribes to keep African-Americans from becoming a vital part of mainstream America — something most Republicans want for all blacks. The refrain to an old song asks “How’re you gonna keep ‘em down on the farm?â€� With a slight alteration it is substantially what the Democrats are saying to the black community which it has been hand-feeding to “keep ‘em down in the ghetto.â€� If the Democratic Party truly wanted to bring all blacks into mainstream America it would long ago have sponsored programs elevating blacks into responsible and well-paying positions in business industry and corporate America. And it would undergo thrown its give behind a national movement to end segregated neighborhoods everywhere. When are the political voices in Black America going to change state up and cognise that they undergo been kept captive for decades by Democrats and Liberals in high places from the FDR and Lyndon Johnson era through the Clinton years? When are they going to step forward and demand the same status in business industry and the professions that whites enjoy? Leaders of the black community should accept that Asian and Hispanic citizens are already enjoying higher positions in the American economy. They should be asking why the same advances haven’t been made available to many blacks. If they start asking these hard questions they will sight the fact that the Democrats’ longtime give of giveaway government programs aren’t “giveawayâ€� programs at all. They are purely and simply bribes designed to act African-Americans from demanding the same status in industry business and the professions as whites and many Asians and Hispanics now enjoy. The Emancipation Proclamation may have freed the slaves but the Democrats and their Liberal friends have created a new kind of slavery for blacks — bureaucratically controlled giveaway programs to “act them down on the farm.â€� And the sooner thinking Americans realize that the better the nation ordain be. The only thing really remarkable about the warning from the FBI to Al Sharpton that an unnamed and unspecified dangerous substance may have been mailed to his National challenge Network office in New York was that it came from the FBI. For months Sharpton has bitterly complained that he had been receiving a steady stream of hate mail and death threats and had repeatedly told law enforcement and the FBI about the threats. He questioned just how seriously they took them. This time the FBI apparently took the substance threat serious enough to warn him. That Sharpton should be under attack is hardly a surprise. If it's a police shooting a protest over housing discrimination a Jena six march the charge to Dump Don Imus a fist move at the furnish administration the bet is that Sharpton will be in the thick of the action. When Sharpton toppled Jesse Jackson from the top spot as black America's main man the notoriety and the hostility that that title carries with it insured that he'd take the heat for whatever went right or wrong when blacks took to the streets in protest. Sharpton's ubiquitous visibility on the complain front and willingness to go virtually anywhere as the visible face and voice of angry black America makes him a universal punching bag. But that doesn't totally explain the deep and almost clinical loathing that the mere mention of Sharpton's name stirs among far too many whites and a fair be of blacks. There are two bigger reasons for the hatred-fascination for Sharpton. He shakes rattles and ignites the goblin of racial denial in many whites. Sharpton is a breathing walking reminder that race still matters and matters a lot in America. He is a slap in the approach to the legions that duck dodge deflect and flat out deny that there's still a lot of racial hurt inflicted on blacks. Sharpton shatters their comforting delusion that racial hate is a dusty antique thing of a bygone past a figment of the overwrought paranoid imagination of many blacks or better still that blacks themselves with their alleged incessant penchant for playing the go separate are the only bigots left in America. The flap over Imus or Dog the Bounty Hunter was a textbook example of that. The instant they copped to their racial sins the predictable happened. Legions of whites unleashed a torrent of self-righteous angry and near paranoid rants on internet converse rooms on the comment section of news blogs and in emails to this writer hysterically defending Imus and Dog. They cussed Sharpton.
