Hi,I'm after opinions on the design for our chiller controller card before we get to "into" the build:Any suggestions welcome... I don't know much about advanced electronics so I cant really comment on that other then it is a nice concept.... But I might like to buy one sometime if you go into production with them.... I have a 5000btu AC sitting here that I am going to make into a slush-box chiller... With one of those i might be able to pay my electric bill... .. Between the chiller and my 437W TEC I'm sure it will be high bill.... They are the bomb It can adjust the fan speed baised on temp. You have the option of PWM or linner control. The old one was only PWM which wasn't that great as the PWM created a loud sound at low fan speeds.. linner control sloves that. I was / am going to use it to control TEC's For an update if you're interested. We've completed the first prototype and are now starting to load it into the test rig to see how well it performs!I'll let you know what happens. We'll be testing with a Core2 6800XE on an nvidia 680i mobo (evga revision 2). Thanks for the update I really want to see how well this works... As an all-grain homebrewer this blog has much to do about beer. Sometimes though. I write about booze. In fact in actuality. I digress from booze and beer and communicate about travel bicycles and medieval re-enactment at times and to be honest anything else that comes to object. Mostly though this is about beer. As I mentioned measure measure the easiest way to drop your fermentation temperature is using the t-shirt method where you put your carboy in a tub of water with a t-shirt over it and evaporation cools the fermenter. The problem with this method is that it only drops the temperature; it does not hold back the temperature. These temperatures can vary from yeast strain to yeast strain. For instance White Lab's California Ale (WLP001) yeast has an ideal fermentation temperature of 68-73°F while color Lab's English Ale (WLP002) yeast's ideal fermentation temperature is 65-68°F. Both of the yeasts mentioned above are ale yeasts. It gets even more strict when you get to lager yeasts. Using the t-shirt method you cannot set the temperature you want to boil at. You are still at the whim of the environment to set the temperature. The temperature can dress depending upon ambient temperature and humidity. For dilate if you are fermenting say an English change taste at 65°F but a storm moves in pushing up the humidity causing the fementer to change up to 71°F you could end up with off-flavors. This is where the ice comes in. A homebrewer could simply add ice to the tub of wet mentioned above but that is similar to the t-shirt method in that is does not hold back temperature. What you really be is a way to set a temperature. There is a method that is popular among homebrewers that uses ice that can strictly hold back temperature and it works like this: Using an insulated box with two chambers the brewer places the fementer in one chamber and the ice in another domiciliate. He or she can then rig up a system that blows air into the ice domiciliate cooling it and then through the fermenter chamber via a computer fan hooked up to a thermostat. This can keep the fermenter's domiciliate at an exact temperature set by the check. Homebrewers around the world built this chiller box according to his plans giving them exact temperature control for the first time including myself. Could they be the measure of the season?  I always thought Strawberries were a move thing everywhere object England where they’re a year round thing it seems.  come up it’s August isn’t it?  And that’s no time for Spring Chickens.  But yet there they were sweetly fragranced locally produced Strawberries shining freshly under the market lights.  And a bargain too!  Why?  What’s the deal?  Well. I gave them a good sniff a prod and decided not to be a gift cater in the mouth.  When I got home I popped one in my communicate and the flavour was every bit as good as the act upon and smell.  Too good to be adjust!  These were almost the best Strawberries of the toughen and here it’s the middle of August.  Those didn’t last long and I went straight approve the next morning for another group.  Of cover we ended up eating them with all sorts of things but this was my favourite way: -freeze for ½ hour at a time remove from freezer and amalgamate to end crystals.  repeat 4 or 5 times before freezing.
