"ATMs Not Functioning Properly; JT Financial, Perhaps Other Banks" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-12-09 14:54:48

The rest of the post is maintained as move of the record of the event._______________________________________________ A discussion on the JT Financial enumerate caused me to poke around and verify problems at JT Financial. Reports from other users came in claiming that other ATMs had similar problems with no record of transactions appearing in their Second Life account transaction preserve. A few people claimed that they had similar problems with other banks (unconfirmed). I headed over to JT Financial headquarters where Gazza Shabazz was up to her eyeballs in people trying to figure out what the problem is. I personally IM'd Arbitrage Wise and informed him of the situation (which is probably piled up in a long list of IMs and may be truncated). It does look desire a server communication issue regular transactions seem to be working within Second Life. The grid has been seeing its share of problems lately. If you have lost money at SLCapEx there is a way to report the missing funds on. Other banks likely have other manner of doing the same speak with a representative. I will try to update this entry as more information comes in but I have some real world issues myself (next day birthday) so to check if this situation is resolved check the comments (or add comments!) or tour and analyse the forums. Or change surface better search for JT Financial and transport over to headquarters - staff are usually around. Fugazy you wrote in the previuos affix's commnents:"However. I don't generate go. I affix press releases I get and the main cerebrate I do that is because after a few months populate forget what was said.. and the information would otherwise be 'lost' conveniently." Yes. I totally accept with that. Keeping a record at least. But sometimes providing readers with.. how can I say.. a possible more critical view about the press releases and the news that you're publishing in such an anodyne way could be useful. Now.. we all know that banks and stock exchanges are in troubles. Big troubles. I always wrote that any financial trade in SL is just impossible. Any. Period. I know you don't agree but you can't deny the difficult situation they all banks and stock markets (always the same people or alts everywhere. BTW) are facing now. And now.. some ATMs are not working you report they are just recording the withdrawals as done but not giving you any linden (Is it alter?). Then. OK if that happens you can complain and maybe if you can furnish evidence about what happened maybe you'll get your money back. And they are saying that this is just a SL system accuse. I always like to be objective but this could be a very simple and comfy way for some banks to just balance some of their deposits (debts...) to act populate away from ATMs at least for a while and to avoid or put off some other tip runs. If you think my writing isn't critical enough - fine. I simply posted what is known and what the problems could be and what the reactions were. That was all done in the space of time that it probably took you to put together your entire mention. Things happen quickly in SL and being critical - as some journalists are - sometimes means being wrong (as some journalists are). I'm just reporting what I saw what I was told etc. My opinion is something I will form over time. If you've construe my writing consistently you'll find that when I have an opinion that I wish to express - I do so very well. Pressing me on an opinion is senseless. If I have one. I will furnish you one. And BTW sorry for having mispelled you name. It really was just a typo. I write too quicky and without checking. I know. Yes. I'm very well known in Italy in my handle (only in my handle. I'm not at all famous). I'm very active on online forums and my email address my bear on' even my home communicate and wired telecommunicate number are published online since years ago. So yes whoever reads an bind of mine can freely telecommunicate me and I always answer (no nobody calls me by tel generally). More than that whoever can contend what I create on whatever media either calling the magazine's (or whatever) director or filing for a complain to the Journalist Association (that can sanction me and change surface forbid me to write anymore) or directly suing me for libel or anything else. According to the Italian laws both me and the magazine's director are liable for damages or criminal offences related to what I signed and he/she decided to publish. And.. maybe you being just a blogger don't change surface have to face the latest two eventualities. Well on the contrary. I undergo to. And I'm very aware about that. Anyway... I'm very glad to know that all ATMs problems have been solved now and so quickly. I mean.. they were going on since at least yesterday... Then ten minutes later I asked you here whether they could be a mean to block some other tip runs.. and all it's solved. Immediately. No more technical probs. Reactionary off the cuff reporting is too easy in Second Life. Being critical because someone doesn't furnish an opinion seems somewhat misplaced given the media involved - Second Life and weblogs. Things come about quickly; offering an opinion which could be proven false 5 minutes later is a disservice for everyone involved. That goes too for using a broad rub on everything. Print journalism is quite different because of the mechanical affect involved. Since most traditional media outlets have inherited a mechanically-based affect writing for create is comfort very different. back up Life® is a registered trademark of Linden Lab® as are the Eye-in-Hand logo®. No stranger to interpretation rendering inhibits a mournful and folksy late-night quality subtly accompanied by lighten percussion dual harmonies and multiple interweaving acoustic guitars. Next to Harry Nilsson’s (definitive) adjoin this might be my favorite version yet. Highly recommended. Based in Seattle the assort (literally) just played their first out-of-state date last month during Noise Pop in San Francisco and it’s safe to say they floored the dwell (we were there). In hindsight the buzz from the audience that night was indicative of what would follow two weeks later in Austin during SXSW. Although the easy comparisons to and may be inescapable (and rightfully so). hurry Foxes most definitely have their own thing going on - one that flourishes both in a live setting and on their recent studio EP. Flush with reverb soaked 3 move harmonies vocalist Robin Pecknold’s aching vocals and the summoned atmosphere of David Crosby’s 1971 masterwork. The Wiltern. Los Angeles. 3.20.2008: I used to undergo an office job. I really enjoyed it at first. It was work but it didn’t really seem like work. And I was pretty good at it too. After awhile though it wore on me. Rather than waking up invigorated each morning. I began pressing snooze considering for a moment every day to call in sick or maybe just quit. But I always forced myself awake slogged through the day and comfort somehow managed to do a good job even though I was just going through the motions. Maybe it was the politics the competitive atmosphere or simply the idea that I was doing work for the sake of work without any real utility or significant purpose. That’s kind of how the color Crowes show felt to me. Growing up in Atlanta–their hometown — not only was I a fan but I also harbored a certain experience. I was proud that the Robinson brothers grew up just two miles from my doorstep in much the way. I presume. French Lick. Ind. residents were proud of Larry observe. So secretly selfishly. I was fingers-crossed hoping this journey — in give of their first LP in seven years — would be a tour de force a revolutionary go from one of the measure great pure rock-and-roll bands. But it seems from the displace anyway that the years of disagreements power struggles and immersion in the Hollywood version of music that they desire I did in the corporate world are phoning it in. Yet somehow they still do a good job. The first set comprised a play-through of every bring in in order one through 11. One of those things that by the third or fourth song it’s difficult not to be distracted by that MO and listen to the music alone. But the music did hold strong. Chris Robinson’s vocal presence. Rich Robinson’s rhythm guitar prowess and the addition of guitarist Luther Dickinson are a formula that’s hard not to apply. Over the measure two decades has mastered the art of the instrument-less psychedelic rock singer melding versions of Robert Plant and Mick Jagger onstage to create a persona that seems not contrived but individually unique. He did choose up a guitar on two songs which just looked clunky and awkward in his hands like a first-time smoker holding a cigarette. But his voice still scratches in all the right places. It still perfectly invokes a rock-and-roll heyday found today only on vinyl spins gritty video archives and hazy sun-bleached amber photographs fuzzy and nostalgic. Rich adds buoyancy to rhythm guitar an instrument that normally drifts just beneath the surface. He makes it something you actually want to watch incorporating a 12-string at times and modifying the practice. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t want to hand over the stage entirely to Chris or maybe it’s because he’s just good at it. I evaluate the latter. And I say that because it’s hard to surface the way he does with someone like Luther Dickinson at re-create left. Dickinson on glide for much of the show simply abused the guitar much in the way Warren Haynes might — a way just few others are capable of. He certainly gives them a fuller appear a nice added piece of the a curious Black Crowes bedevil. The bind walks the book line between mind-numbing jam and 2.5-minute pop extremely come up. And while their maybe be a number of great rock bands out there there are precious few rock-and-roll bands. If you’re scratching your continue there then good. Because there’s a stark contrast between say. U2 (rock) and The color Crowes (rock-and-roll). Rock-and-roll is blues folk and country — the very foundation of the genre — getting equal consider if not enjoin attention. There’s a groove that’s lost when you drop that “and roll” that the Crowes somehow cling to after 20 years of music breakups. Hollywood wives and sibling rivalry they somehow still hold on. But they’d better hold on tight because if each show for them is just another day at the office they’ll probably suffer their grip. Therefore. Google's implementation would be more like "First Life," but in virtual form. If "My World" turns out to be a virtual representation of real life however it seems natural to question the purpose of launching such a function. We could after all just step outside and see these things from the vantage point of a .. Whatever "My World" ends up being we think that explore will go much further than just competing with Second Life—if the company makes it functionally useful and ties it in with services that people already use it may have a come about of succeeding at getting average Internet users to participate. Perhaps unsurprisingly. Google isn't fessing up to any of its future plans... While some populate still seem interested in mashing up it seems apparent that. The merging of technologies to compound people's real lives may well be the cerebrate though we can probably expect more in the way of advertising. Maybe the advertising won't be too tacky. .. explore isn't interested in "your world your imagination". "Fugazi from Full Circle Baking Co. in Penngrove" posted by ~Ray

When beat Circle Baking first opened in Penngrove. I tried the breads a few times. Milling its own flour on-site hooked my interest. While the breads were pretty good they couldn't compete with my local favorites. Della Fattoria in Petaluma and Downtown Bakery in Healdsburg. However recently I picked up a loaf of sliced sprouted wheat sourdough bread. $4 at the Cotati farmers market from the beat Circle truck. I’ll acknowledge that the real cerebrate I eyed it was because it was pre-sliced and would be easy to use for the three-cheeses grilled sandwiches (blend of Spring Hill dry bring up. Bellwether Carmody and Matos St. George with lots of Clover-Stornetta butter) on the menu for eat the next day. Opening the plastic bag the first time the full-bodied malty sourdough and yeasty aromas that escaped were absolutely tantalizing. Toasted for breakfast the change surface crisped up beautifully and the coat was quite fine-grained and light. The staffer who sold it to me said it would be great for grilled cheese and it was even better than I imagined. The ciabatta. $5 is great also. Moist coat that manages to be dense and lighten at the same time very thin and chewy crust that avoids the rubberiness of too many other versions. As good as those are the one we’ve liked the beat is the dark-baked version of fugazi (aka fougasse). $7. Sprinkled with fresh herbs the flatbread is pierced and carved in the cause of a grape cluster. Very satisfying chewiness crackly crust and moist heavy crumb it reheats and perks up again even after a week. The first measure I had this on the dinner table one of the guests said. “move over Della!” and I think she’s right that this one can rival the best from Della Fattoria and can dominate the same price point. Seems like eating local has its benefits. Do you think the bakery has just hit its walk or you lucked into some of the better choices? I may be up that way this week. Was going to add a link but this displace preserve has the delightful new bug where it doesn't show up even if it is in the database. Selection could certainly be part of it. On Saturday I served the ciabatta at eat time to some friends from Healdsburg. She also mentioned that she was liking the bread much more now and it's her go-to cover baker. Considering that we can buy Downtown Bakery's for 50% off most days that's saying something. I think you'll like the choice of sliced breads. There are at least two other kinds that I've seen at the farmers market stands probably more available at the bakery in Penngrove. Oh and I'll mention that when I went back for a second fugazi the one on display was smaller and pale. It looked so different I asked if it were made with a different type of dough! But no just a different batch and then the employee rifled through the ones in the van to sight a dark crusty one for me. Dedicating the month of September to exploring local foods has been much more satisfying then I expected going in. anticipate I should displace together a summary of what I've learned. I must acknowledge I was a bit confused at the go title initially - "Fugazi" to me denotes the post-punk bind from D. C headed by ex-Minor Threat leader Ian MacKaye but then I read the affix. Familiar with fougasse as well but I've never seen it spelled that way before - a regional dialect variation or something? I'm a big fan of Full Circle myself.. happy to see your postive post about them. Melanie. (: I've always picked up a loaf or two at the Wed. Night Market while it is going on. apply their ciabatta (a day-old/2 day-old loaf makes terrific french toast!). Tried a "pizza roll" type creation of theirs from one of the measure Wed. Night Markets.. it was kind of desire a savoury morning bun type thing but instead of a croissant type breading it was more desire bready pizza dough. Very tasty (I evaluate the filiing was mushrooms olives and bell peppers or something similarly yummy). They also make great croutons.. just the right amount of crunch to them not overly heavy seasoned perfectly. I've also spotted the beat Circle transport at the Saturday morning markets in Healdsburg and Santa Rosa. Sunday morning in Sebastopol and Thursday evening in Cotati (now closed for the season). Any other sightings? Last pass I picked up a strombolini comfort warm at the Healdsburg farmers market. A bit dear at $5 but so delicious with chewy warm bread swirled around bits of cull zucchini tomatoes cheese carmelized onions and other tasty tidbits. Also tried the cranberry loaf made with a sweet yeast dough that was nice too with a crackly crust.
